The gory first person shooter that remembers rock ‘n’ roll, namely id Software’s DOOM has been slated since its initial reveal to be releasing in Q1/Q2 2016 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It seems that release date could be in the second quarter as a listing by Amazon France indicates it will be out on June 30th. Bethesda has yet to officially confirm the same.
It’s hard to ignore Amazon France – the retail site listed Rise of the Tomb Raider for PC as releasing on January 29th, which wasn’t far off from the actual release date (January 28th). There’s not much happening in June save for E3 2016 and the month has been known to be fairly barren for releases. DOOM could very well avoid the Fall season rush, much like Bethesda’s Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Old Blood which both released in the month of May.
We’ll find out more in the coming months obviously, especially since DOOM is scheduled to have another beta at some point. What are your thoughts on a June release date? Let us know in the comments.
Update: Amazon France is now listing DOOM for release by December 31st. Let the conspiracy theories begin.
