You wouldn’t believe that Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched in 2024 if Capcom hadn’t released second anniversary artwork for the same. Despite receiving extensive acclaim from critics, the fan reception was mixed due to performance issues, missing features, microtransactions, and much more. However, those hoping for DLC may finally see their wishes coming true.
Within that same celebratory artwork, Twitter user Alvaro has discovered what seems to be a new character, just hanging out in the background. The fantastically named Chainsaw McFacepunch also translated the note on the table, which apparently says “Sightings of griffins flying in from the northern region of Organ have been confirmed.”
Organ isn’t present in the base game, which could mean it’s a new location that players have never visited. Perhaps this new character is involved in this potential griffin crisis. Time will tell, but considering how Capcom seemingly teased Resident Evil Requiem’s announcement in a celebratory video for Resident Evil 4 Remake, anything is possible.
Whatever the case may be, it won’t involve Hideaki Itsuno, the series’ creator, who has moved on to LightSpeed Japan Studio under Tencent and is working on a new action game. Of course, it’s worth noting that Dark Arisen, the first game’s DLC, was directed by Kento Kinoshita, who went on to helm Resident Evil Village’s Shadows of Rose DLC.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is currently available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It’s sold over four million copies as of November 2025.
