Evolution Studios’ DriveClub has finally gone gold. The racing simulator was announced in February 2013 along with the PS4’s reveal and though it was meant to launch alongside the next-generation console, it was delayed into Spring 2014. There were then rumblings that Sony had gone back to the drawing board with the game before Evolution announced a release for October.

Director Paul Rustchynsky confirmed the news on the PlayStation Blog and also provided some new information on Tour Packs, which are “are mini single-player campaigns featuring new events, new objectives and new trophies. Generally they’ll be based around the latest season pass content, or the latest free car or tracks.”

It also seems that Evolution Studios will have free updates for the game including a weather system that can be customized, photo mode and some new tracks to go along with the 25 already available. There will also be a free car provided each month from October 2014 till June 2015.

DriveClub is out on October 7th for North America and October 8th for Europe on PS4.
