So remember Mario’s Tanooki Suit? Completely honourable organization PETA launched a campaign and game in 2011 called Mario Kills Tanooki. It was rallying against the murder of raccoon dogs for their fur and claimed Mario was sending a message that such murder was okay. Yes, seriously. PETA later backtracked and said the game was “tongue in cheek”. Could this get any dumber? Well, no but it is PETA so nothing they do surprises us in the very least.
