Left 4 Dead 2 Racism
Hurricane Katrina was an unfortunate tragedy in the United States back in 2005. When Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2 was revealed to be set in New Orleans, it caused the Houston Chronicle to call it insensitive to the disaster that occurred. The other major claim was of racist undertones because apparently many of the zombies were found to be African-American. Valve’s Chet Faliszek hit back at this accusation, noting that the game was set in a fictional version of New Orleans which has no bearing on the disaster of Katrina. Not only are there are several races of zombies but two of the main characters were also noted as being African-American.
