Dying Light The Beast

Techland’s Dying Light: The Beast received a release at Summer Game Fest, with the standalone adventure out in August (and free for Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition owners). It’s since provided an extensive gameplay walkthrough showcasing traversal at night, combat, and the series’ signature parkour.

Survivor Sense returns from the previous two titles and can assist in numerous scenarios. While sneaking around at night, it helps detect Volatiles, the most dangerous infected and helps Kyle Crane avoid them. However, daytime usage is also encouraged since it distinguishes between different enemy types.

Alongside melee weapons, bows, and dropkicking enemies off rooftops to their deaths, you also have firearms like shotguns and assault rifles. Vehicles are also important as Kyle commandeers a pickup truck and drives through the world to lure a Chimera with special gas. Running over the infected is encouraged, but vehicles can take damage and eventually be destroyed.

Dying Light: The Beast launches on August 22nd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
