Although we knew it was coming (heck, even the name of the original Dragon Age game hinted at as much), it’s good to get an official confirmation straight from the horse’s mouth.

Yep, Electronic Arts confirmed that BioWare is curently developing Dragon Age 2, a full fledged sequel to 2009’s highly acclaimed Dragon Age: Origins.

the confirmation came hidden away in a separate press release this morning from the publisher announcing it had picked up the European publishing rights for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

The confirmation came hidden away in a separate press release this morning from the publisher announcing it had picked up the European publishing rights for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Citing Dragon Age as ‘RPG of the Year 2009,’ EA said that BioWare was currently hard at work developing the highly anticipated sequel to the game.

Toadd fuel to the fire, BioWare teased over Twitter today that fans of the studio would be very happy tomorrow. Will the game be getting a full reveal then?

Dragon Age 2 is the sequel to the fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins, released first in 2009. Presumably, it will be releasing on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Watch this space for more info.
