Electronic Arts and Omega Force (of Dynasty Warriors fame) are teaming up for Wild Hearts, the “next great hunting game,” and a reveal trailer is coming today. However, the title could release a lot sooner than many expect. Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb on Twitter noted that it would release in Q4 of the fiscal year 2023 (which ends on March 31st, 2023).
Grubb alleges that this is the “partner title” that the publisher referred to in its previous earnings reports (with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor being the “major IP”). If it maintains the current trajectory, then a Q1 2023 release isn’t out of the question. Perhaps the release window will be announced in the reveal trailer.
The trailer airs at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET/11 PM JST. Very little is known about Wild Hearts, except that it offers “an epic adventure set in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan.” Given Koei Tecmo’s experience in that particular department with Toukiden (its own Monster Hunter-esque series) and Nioh, it should be interesting. Stay tuned for more details when the trailer is live.
At least according to this release calendar from EA's earnings earlier this summer, the publisher has a major IP and a partner game coming in Q4 (before March 31 of 2023). The Major IP is Jedi Survivor. Wild Hearts is the partner game. So this is going to be a quick turnaround. pic.twitter.com/FKWbMB17RB
