ELEX 2

THQ Nordic has announced ELEX 2, a follow-up to the 2017 action RPG from Piranha Bytes. It’s coming “soon” to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC with a reveal trailer showcasing the return of Jax. That’s the protagonist of the first game for those still keeping track.

Jax is seen taking on hordes of enemies with allies from various factions joining him near the tail end. While no actual gameplay footage was shown, there will be multiple classes to choose from, whether one favors a melee-focused playstyle or using magic. What’s going on with the planet and who are these new foes that Jax and company have to fight? We’ll likely learn more in the coming months.

The first ELEX debuted on PS4, Xbox One and PC in October 2017 and had a mixed critical response (check out our review here). Nevertheless, it garnered a cult following of sorts. THQ Nordic acquired Piranha Bytes in 2019 though the studio maintains its creative freedom.
