Epic Games has thrown everything it has into pushing the Epic Games Store as a force to be reckoned with in the PC gaming space, and though there have certainly been some growing pains, the company remains committed to investing in and building on the digital storefront. With exclusivity agreements for a number of upcoming games, new features being added in at a much more regular clip, and free games being given away consistently, it’s certainly been gathering plenty of momentum, and in a recently published 2021 wrap-up report, Epic Games shared some interesting details on how its store did throughout the year.

The most significant new detail is the fact that the Epic Games Store now has over 194 million users, up from the 160 million it had at the end of 2020. Other areas have hit new peaks as well, with daily active users having peaked at 31.1 million, concurrent users at 13.2 million, and monthly active users at 62 million users in December, which is up 11% from 2020’s peak of 56 million. Additionally, users sent rougly $840 million in the store throughout the year, which is a 20% increase from 2020.

Interestingly, the Epic Games Store also gave away a total of 89 games throughout 2021, which were collectively claimed over 765 million times. Of those 89 games, 76 games hit new peak concurrent user counts on PC following their giveaways.
