In order to make the world feel more “alive”, Bethesda decided to omit push-to-talk for Fallout 76. That means it’s all open mics, all the time, so you’re constantly hearing noise from other players’ microphones whether you want to or not. Again, the developer noted that push-to-talk will be added in the near future but why it wasn’t available during the beta is beyond us.
