Be careful about spending all your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points en route to max level.

Though Fallout 76 is still about a month away, erstwhile players who pre-ordered the game can participate in its beta on October 23rd for Xbox One. PS4 and PC players join a week later, but Xbox Insiders who pre-ordered can also try out the stress test this weekend. It’s all well and good, because there’s still a lot we don’t know about the game.

For instance, when hitting level 50 and having allotted all of one’s S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points, what if you want to respec your character? What if you want to put a few more points into Endurance over Strength? It won’t be possible, according to Bethesda’s Pete Hines on Twitter. While this is kind of a bummer, especially since players need to create a brand new character for a different build, it does help give more meaning to stat choices.

The choices made and the consequences that occur will also be more impactful as a result. Don’t worry though – Perk Cards will be available to give further definition to one’s character, so you might be able to cover some weaknesses. Fallout 76 is out on November 14th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Start planning your builds in advance and choose wisely.
