Lead creative designer and writer for Obsidian Entertainment’s Fallout: New Vegas John Gonzalez has been confirmed to have joined Guerrilla Games. The shift was completed in September, and Gonzalez has moved on as lead designer at WB Games for an unannounced title. According to his LinkedIn profile, Gonzalez states that his “focus is storytelling for open-world role-playing games. Because they are awesome.”

Guerrilla Games, meanwhile, is famous for the Killzone franchise, having just released Killzone: Shadow Fall for the PlayStation 4 earlier this month. Whether there’s an incentive to bring an open world nature or better story-telling to the Killzone franchise (and lord knows it could use both at this point) remains to be seen. Nonetheless, with Gonzalez’s talent, it’ll be interesting to see where the series goes from here.

Of course, Gonzalez could also be working with Guerrilla on its as-of-yet unannounced new project for the PS4. At this point, anything is possible so stay tuned in the coming weeks for more details.
