Famitsu gives Skyrim 40/40; first western game to get a perfect score

Posted By | On 29th, Nov. 2011

When Skyrim was released earlier this month, it was met with perfect and near-perfect reviews all around. Even we gave it a glowing 9.5/10 and gave it all sorts of praises. However, you know that a Western RPG is good when a Japanese publication gives it a good review.

Respected gaming magazine has given The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim a 40/40, making it the first western game ever to have the honor of having a perfect score from the mag. It’s the seventeenth game overall to receive a perfect score from Famitsu’s in the magazine’s 25 year history.

It’s also been nominated for the Game of the Year category at the VGAs, so you can all expect Skyrim to sweep away almost all awards and honors.

You can read our own review of Skyrim through the link at the top of the page.
