Retail monitor GfK Chart-Track announced today that EA Sports’ 2011 iteration of the FIFA series, FIFA 12, has become UK’s highest grossing sports game of all time, becoming more successful than any other FIFA game too.
“It has already made more money than any other FIFA title or indeed any other sports title to date,” announced Chart-Track.
FIFA 12 was the second highest selling game in UK last year, and has been topping the weekly UK charts for the last five weeks straight, this week included, making it a total of 7 weeks that it has been on the top. Ever since its launch, there has not been a single week where the game wasn’t at least in the top 5.
Chart-Track said: “The five week run is the joint second best run of any FIFA title although it has a long way to go to beat FIFA World to the World Cup 98 which had a record 11 weeks in a row at No.1.”
