While Path of Exile fans have ExileCon, Final Fantasy 14 players are getting some bombshell announcements at the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Fest 2023. Square Enix announced the next expansion for the MMORPG – Dawntrail, which launches in Summer 2024. Check out the first trailer below.
The story sees the Warrior of Light traveling to the New World with Alphinaud, Alisaie and Erenville. On a quest to find the next ruler of Tural, there’s a possible city of gold to discover. Some new locations include the city of Tuliyollal and the mountains of Urqopacha, the latter previously serving as the “heart of the giants’ empire.” There’s also Yak Tel, a forest with dense foliage where the hrothgar and mamool ja reside.
Gameplay-wise, players can expect a level cap increase from 90 to 100 and two new Jobs – a ranged magic DPS and melee DPS. There will also be Treasure Hunts, Fates, new Dungeons and Variant Dungeons, new raids and a graphical update to improve material qualities while adding high-resolution textures and shadows.
Square Enix has also announced that Final Fantasy 14 will be coming to Xbox Series X/S next year.
