During the recent Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival in London, producer and director Naoki Yoshida unveiled the first of the two new Jobs coming to the game in its upcoming expansion, Dawntrail. The Job, named Viper, will be melee DPS-focused, and can be seen in action in a new video below.

The Viper Job makes use of two one-handed blades to deal damage to enemies. The class can also use special abilities that involve connecting the blades to each other, turning the weapon into a single two-handed double-sided sword with which to damage enemies.

Further details about Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail were revealed, including the fact that its 24-player Alliance Raid series will be titled Echoes of Vana’diel, and will be a crossover with previous MMORPG Final Fantasy 11. One of the new cities in the expansion has also been revealed, dubbed Tuliyollal.

Players will also get to explore new areas, such as the tropical region of Kozama’uka, and the arid region of Shaaloani. Along the way, players will meet the Moblins, which will be the new Allied Tribe in the expansion.

Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail doesn’t yet have a release date, but is slated for launch some time in Summer 2024.
