Final Fantasy 15 Needs To Top 10 Million Copies Sold – Square Enix

Quite an unrealistic expectation.

Now that Final Fantasy 15‘s release date has been officially revealed, Square Enix is talking an awful lot about their upcoming epic RPG and it appears the company is quite excited about its prospects when it comes to sales. The company held its official release date event on Wednesday and released a ton of new trailers and other accompanying media. It also talked about how many units it expects to sell, even with some waning popularity in the series as a whole.

During the press section of the special event, Square Enix says it expects to sell more than 10 million copies of Final Fantasy 15. This is certainly an ambitious expectation considering the series as a whole simply doesn’t have depth of following it did years ago. At the same time, this game looks about as good as any game that’s out for the current generation of consoles right now. The lore behind the game, along with the pretty appearance might be enough to ramp up the sales.

With the game’s release just months away, we won’t have to wait long to see just how close to its estimates Square Enix came. Final Fantasy 15 launches for the PS4 and Xbox One on September 30, 2016.
