Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Finally Adds DLSS 4 With Multi Frame Generation on PC

Alongside improving performance on supported GPUs, the latest update includes bug fixes and improvements to "overall game stability."

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

When Square Enix released Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for PC to kick off the year, it didn’t receive the warmest reception from players due to performance issues. Various updates have improved things over time, but a new update is available that could make the biggest difference yet. If you own the correct GPU, of course.

Nvidia DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation has been added, which should provide a performance bump for PC players. You’ll still need an RTX 40 or 50 Series GPU to leverage the feature, however.

The update also includes “Improvements to overall game stability, including some bug fixes.” If you’re hoping it would cut down on all the mini-games or sections that felt too long, tough luck. Director Naoki Hamaguchi also disagrees with your assessment, but promises that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3’s structure will be a “bit more concise.” And no, the team isn’t making a shorter game to ensure this.

As work continues on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for PC, Hamaguchi has noted how all the optimization thus far carries over to the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Suffice it to say that Switch 2 players won’t have to fret about performance when it launches (whenever that may be).
