Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Gameplay Showcases Open World Activities, Combat, Summons, and More

Square Enix's highly anticipated action RPG sequel is set to launch exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on February 29.

As Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s launch approaches, Square Enix is continuing to ratchet up the hype and anticipation surrounding it, and the publisher has done that through a steady stream of new details, updates, gameplay footage, and more. Recently at Tapei Game Show, plenty more of that also got shown off.

The upcoming action RPG’s Tapei Game Show showing didn’t show too much new stuff, but served as a nice recap of some of the many details that have been previously revealed. Open world activities were shown off, including combat assignments and Remnawave towers, as well as minigames, most notable of them likely being chocobo racing.

We also got a solid look at the combat, with the new Synergy abilities in particular serving as a highlight, showcasing combination attacks between a number of different characters, while Summons also got another new (typically) explosive showing. You can check out the full showcase below.
