Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Final Fantasy 16 is still set to receive plenty of content, but with the base game now out of the way, Square Enix is ready to shift focus over to what comes next for its flagship franchise- and what comes next is, of course, something that millions are waiting for with bated breath.

At Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, Square Enix showcased a lengthy new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second instalment in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. In addition to showcasing further glimpses of combat and the game’s world – including plenty of familiar locations (like the Gold Saucer) and characters – the trailer also hints at some of the narrative threads that’ll have a major role to play in the game, from Sephiroth discovering his true nature to Zack’s role in this new take on the story to Weapons and more. Suffice to say, it’s a packed trailer. Check it out below.

Meanwhile, a release date has also been announced for the game. Earlier this year, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth would launch in early 2024, and now, Square Enix has further narrowed that down, and announced that it’ll be launching for PS5 on February 29.
