Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

As rumored, Square Enix has confirmed a release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second part in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake saga, on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S. It will be available on June 3rd worldwide – check out the latest trailer below.

Immediately following the aftermath of the first part, Cloud and his friends escape Midgar and into the wider world in pursuit of Sephiroth. Unlike its predecessor, players can traverse massive semi-open world regions, taking on various enemies and side quests, or using Chocobos to get around. You can also engage in mini-games like Queen’s Blood and revamped versions of classic sequences like the parade.

Of course, there are also new party members to recruit, including Yuffie, Cait Sith and Red XIII, each with unique abilities and playstyles. You’ll even control Sephiroth in some flashback sequences. Combat as a whole has improved with a new progression system, Synergy Skills, and Summons. If you’re keen on a hefty role-playing game experience, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has you covered, and streamlined progression is available to speed things up.

Check out our review of the PS5 and PC versions for more details. Square Enix previously confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 would also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, along with PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in the future, though a release date is pending.
