Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Were The Top Played Games on Xbox One Last Week

Red Dead Redemption 2 can’t knock these games off.

Even though Red Dead Redemption 2 is out, and it’s massively successful, garnering rave reviews, and selling a ridiculous amount of copies in a very short time, it still can’t beat multiplayer games in terms of player engagement—at least if the most played game stats on Xbox, that we get on a weekly basis, are anything to go by.

Based on these, Fortnite: Battle Royale was the most played game on Xbox One last week. But Fortnite is free to play, so maybe comparing it to full fledged $60 game isn’t fully fair. In which case, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was also ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2, coming in at second place, while the latter came in at third. This is the list for the United States only, mind you— in Canada, for example, Red Dead Redemption 2 is #2, while Black Ops 4 is #3 (Fortnite retains the top spot).

With Battlefield 5 and Fallout 76 both due out soon, the battle for the top of the charts should only get more heated up in the coming weeks.
