Fortnite Xbox One S Bundle Announced

At this point, I’m waiting for the PC Fortnite bundle.

Fortnite Battle Royale

What, you thought that Sony and Nintendo would get to have all the Fortnite bundle fun? Nah, Microsoft is joining in on the fun too. Today, they announced a Fortnite bundle for Xbox One S, that comes with the console, a copy of the game, 2,000 V-Bucks (worth $20), as well as exclusive in-game items.

Given Fortnite’s popularity, this bundle should help Microsoft appeal directly to people looking to buy a console to play the game— at the very least, it should help them stay competitive with Nintendo, whose Switch Fortnite bundle they will be sharing the store shelves with (the PS4 bundle was a time limited Europe only bundle, so it’s no longer available).

Of course, given that Fortnite is available for everything, and that bundles for it are also available on at least one competing console, it remains to be seen how much of a tangible competitive advantage this gives Microsoft. But hey, it’s a good move in the end, and you can’t blame them for trying.
