Forza Horizon 4

A week ago, we received some new details about Forza Horizon 4, which included information about the houses and character customization in the game, and also some gameplay footage which showcased the “perfect British summer.” During this week’s livestream, the developers showcased the Autumn season in the game, the shared-world features we can expect to see, and also the Forzathon challenges that will be available for players to complete.

First of all, we learn that the game’s shared-world feature is known as ‘Horizon Life’, and players can easily choose to either play online or solo by just selecting the appropriate option from the menu. When playing online, an ‘Auto Ghost’ feature will keep other players from crashing into you, and they’ll just kind of pass through you without making any contact. In the online mode, players can also pretty much do everything they can do in the single-player mode, including rewinding and taking photos.

Next, we learn about ‘Forzathon’, which will present players with lots of exciting challenges that will range from hourly challenges, which include Live team events, to daily challenges for players to complete, and even weekly challenges which will require players to master a particular vehicle. In the livestream, the developers showcased a Live team event, which consisted of three phases. If players complete the stages within a set time limit, they will earn Forzathon points, which can be used to purchase some great items from the Forzathon shop.

Finally, the developers also showed off ‘Showcases’, which are all about being as cinematic and spectacular as possible. The developers showed one called ‘The Behemoth’, in which players actually have to race against a hovercraft. Next week on July 24 at 7 PM BST, the developers will be showcasing the Winter season, along with other details about the game. Stay tuned, we’ll keep bringing all the coverage your way.
