Microsoft have released a video which provides us some insight into their upcoming Xbox One exclusive release, Forza Motorsport 5. The game is one of several that will be released in tune with the launch of the Xbox One.

Specifically this video gives us a look at the concept behind FilmSpeed. By using a zoetrope — which was the first from of visualized animated movement, done by utting a bunch of images in a cylinder with slits on the ends and then rotating it at high speeds — as an example, the racetrack being the cylinder in this case, we are given a look at how this film philosophy was transferred into the game.

The team tried to equal the frames per second on their cameras attached to actual race cars to the frames that the cars were actually driving by per second.

The most important part of this process was making sure that every single frame synched up – a total precision operation.
