With 11 bit studios delaying Frostpunk 2’s PC launch for more polish, a new series called “City Unbound” has started to inform players about new features. In the first episode, game director and design director Jakub Stokalski provides a brief outline for the setting and how you’ll come to govern The City. Check it out below.
Long story short, the previous game’s protagonist, The Captain, has passed away. Players up the mantle and become The Steward, working with various factions and passing laws to improve living. Of course, each faction has different ideas for humanity’s direction, so you must juggle their demands while ensuring survival during the harsh freeze.
Future episodes will offer more details about the factions, the increased building scale, and even venturing into the frozen wasteland to reclaim various sites.
Frostpunk 2 launches on September 20th for PC, with Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions coming later. Head here for details on some new features, like Zoom Stories, and improvements to the UI.
