Generally, we know what the next free game of the Epic Games Store will be about a week in advance. When the next new game is revealed, we also tend to learn what the next game after it will be. For the last three weeks, however, the next free game has been a mystery that hasn’t been revealed until that game is made free.

Well, now we know what the next free game is: it’s 11 bit studios’ Frostpunk, which is replacing InnerSloth’s megahit Among Us. Among Us was free from May 27th to June 3rd. Frostpunk will be free until June 10th. Frostpunk is a “society survival game where heat means life and every decision comes at a price. In an entirely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. You face the task of building the last city on Earth and securing the means necessary for your community to survive.”

We liked Frostpunk quite a bit when we reviewed it in 2018, awarding the game a 9 and praising its aesthetic and gameplay choices, so anyone who hasn’t grabbed it should consider picking it up before it goes away on June 10th. As for what’s going to be free after Frostpunk, it’s another mystery game, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
