Gears of War 4

The Coalition’s Gears of War 4 will be releasing on October 11th according to a post by community director Adam Fletcher on Xbox Wire.

Initially revealed at E3 2015, Gears of War 4 takes place several years in the future and centers on JD Fenix, Marcus’s son. The world isn’t exactly doing so well after the Locust and Lambent were defeated and has been reduced to walled off cities and heavy surveillance. When JD escapes and embarks on his own adventure over a period of 24 hours, it will apparently change things forever.

Gears of War 4 will run at 1080p resolution and 30 FPS on Unreal Engine 4 while offering split-screen co-op. It has a multiplayer beta scheduled for April 18th if you’ve played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One and Windows 10. Xbox Live Gold members will get the beta on April 25th.
