A little over a year ago, Sony announced a film adaptation of Sucker Punch’s action-adventure samurai epic Ghost of Tsushima, revealing that Chad Stahelski – director of the John Wick films – would be helming the project. It seems progress continues to be made on the film, as another name is now attached to a crucial role.

As reported by Deadline, the Ghost of Tsushima film is going to be written by Takashi Doscher. Doscher is known for his work on the likes of sci-fi romance Only, his debut film Still, ESPN documentary A Fighting Chance, and upcoming monster movie Blue.

PlayStation Productions has been ramping up Sony’s efforts to expand PlayStation properties into film and TV. The Uncharted movie released earlier this year, while TV adaptations of The Last of Us and Twisted Metal are also currently in the works.

Ghost of Tsushima, which has sold over 8 million units as of earlier this year, is available on PS5 and PS4.
