Legends and potential DLC may be more hyped, but Sucker Punch is wasting no time bringing new content to Ghost of Yōtei. Announced on the PlayStation Blog, New Game Plus will arrive in a free patch on November 24th.
All of your abilities, weapons and armor sets will carry over into a new playthrough, which means you can, as the developer so succinctly puts it, “bring a gun to a sword fight.” Besides the prospect of more challenges courtesy of higher difficulties and two new Trophies, there are also over 30 new cosmetics and 10 new Charms. The former is acquired with new Ghost Flowers and includes new armor sets and weapon dyes.
Furthermore, you can upgrade your existing weapons and equipment to another tier, further increasing their damage. If you’re not keen on NG+ but want to replay any of the previous content – and check out some new stats – the option will become available. Photo Mode is also getting a few new features, including more filters, shutter speed and a composition grid.
Overall, it’s a pretty varied range of content, and we’re keen to see what else Sucker Punch adds before the arrival of Legends in 2026. It sold 3.3 million units in its first month and received several nominations at The Game Awards (which sadly didn’t include Game of the Year).
