Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint had one of the worst launches of all time back in 2019 (which is saying something considering Anthem and Fallout 76 came before it). Nevertheless, Ubisoft Paris worked hard to improve it, re-introducing AI Teammates, adding the Ghost Experience and various Special Operations. Following more than 11 updates, the developer has confirmed that no more content is coming.

Servers will continue to remain online for the game along with Ghost Recon Wildlands. The last major update (not counting the NFTs) was Operation Motherland which added Conquest Mode as an alternative to the base story. This allowed for choosing from different missions and new enemies to eventually free Auroa from. Interestingly, the developer noted that the feedback for Breakpoint has been “instrumental” and will “help shape the future of the franchise.”

As such, Ubisoft currently has Ghost Recon Frontline, a free-to-play battle royale first person shooter, in the works. Announced in October 2021, closed testing was meant to begin in the same month for PC but was subsequently postponed. No further updates have been provided but perhaps we’ll learn more later this year.
