Strafe jumping is rather common and present in all sorts of first-person shooters now, but it originated in the video game Quake. The glitch allows players to jump in a certain way that would increase their velocity and can immediately jump right after landing. This was originally a glitch, but the developers decided to leave it in after so many players used this technique when battling against each other. Because of its popularity, developers also used this glitch in future installments of the franchise. Strafe jumping, if executed correctly, could let gamers pull of insane moves and dodge attacks by increasing the velocity of their jump.
