I love God of War, but after six games that were all variations of the same gameplay style, the franchise was tired, stale, and boring. This new game in the series, which looks to be a reboot of the franchise, is anything but. The new game looks to be an open world action game in the vein of Zelda, Skyrimor Dark Souls– but with all the style and brutality of the God of War franchise intact.

The new game features what looks an older, wiser Kratos, along with a mysterious kid whom he seems to be teaching… something? Hunting and tracking, basically. In the gameplay demo that we got, we got to see multiple different kinds of gameplay mechanics, including exploration, tracking, and what look like RPG systems, as well.

No release date was announced for God of War– but it will probably be launching alongside the PS4 NEO, as was rumored previously.
