Sony’s exceptional revival of the God of War franchise continues to move from one incredible success to the next. At last count, Sony had confirmed that God of War had crossed 5 million units in sales within the first month of its release, following which we hadn’t received an update.

However, now, Sony has confirmed that God of War has sold over 10 million units since launch. In doing so, it has also become the highest selling game in the series.

God of War launched in April of 2018, a little over a year ago, and was met with rave reviews all across the board. In our own review, we awarded it a 10/10, and called it “one of the greatest games of this generation”. Its latest sales landmark feels very well deserved in light of all the critical success the game has seen so far.

No doubt, Sony Santa Monica are at work on the sequel (which remains unannounced as of yet, of course). Not too long ago, we reported on how they had been looking to staff up and make recruitments for the same. Read more about that through here.
