God of War is undoubtedly one of the most exciting upcoming games on the horizon for PlayStation 4. The new entry in the franchise promises to breathe new life into it, by going in an altogether new direction. The new God of War game seems to be taking its cues from games like The Last of Us, ICO, Prince of Persia, and The Legend of Zelda more than its own predecessors- and seeing how it shall accomplish this within the confines is exciting.

Which is why learning new things about this game is always something we’re up for. When Director Cory Barlog talks about the game on Twitter, we sit up and take attention. For instance, he recently told a fan that God of War will not have much, if any, demos, citing the fact that demos take away from actual development of the game. Barlog also noted that the lack of news on the game these days comes down to the team working on the game to spare much time to talk about it. That said, in spite of all the work being done on the game, Barlog can not yet commit to a release date for the game.
What he can commit to is that the game will be playable on a standard PS4 just fine. You won’t need a PS4 Pro to play the game. It is to be presumed that the game will have PS4 Pro enhancements of some sort, but standard PS4 owners will still be able to play the game in that case.

God of War is due out on PS4 some time in 2017.
