God of War Ragnarok

There are quite a few crafting materials to find in God of War Ragnarok, but at the end of the day, Hacksilver is one of the most important resources. The in-game currency is required to purchase items like Resurrection Stones, upgrading armor, and more. With all of the different armor pieces in the game, each having nine levels of upgrades, the amount of Hacksilver required can be pretty hefty in the long run.

As such, there’s no proper way to farm Hacksilver in God of War Ragnarok. You’ll find a good amount in the post-game, while the first Muspelheim combat trials provide about 1000 Hacksilver each. The final six combat challenges are tough but reward 20,000 Hacksilver and crafting materials, so they’re worth undertaking at least once.

Otherwise, exploration is your best bet for finding Hacksilver throughout the game. Look for small and large chests, and smash any pots, barrels and crates – they’ll always have Hacksilver in them (the Nornir Chests only contain health and Rage upgrades). It’s also found on corpses, lying on the ground, and so on. Some side quests (also known as Favors) also provide Hacksilver and other useful items, so it’s worth going out of your way to complete them.

Increasing your Luck stat will result in more Hacksilver and crafting resources looted from chests, so prioritize that whenever possible. You can also permanently increase Luck and other stats by finding Yggdrasil Dew.

Make sure to sell any Artifacts that you find as well – these can fetch a pretty decent amount at Brok and Sindri if you turn in enough at once. Finally, if you find better armor and don’t have any use for older gear pieces, you can sell the latter. It’s a good way to get some returns on Hacksilver invested.
