God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok is a big game, and for completionists and Platinum hunters and the like, it can easily provide dozens upon dozens of hours of gameplay. If, however, you’ve already done all that and are still desperate for more (especially with DLC unlikely to happen), there’s good new for you.

Developer SIE Santa Monica Studio has confirmed that God of War Ragnarok will be adding New Game Plus – a heavily requested feature – with an update that will arrive in Spring 2023. If you have a completed save, you’ll be able to start a new game and carry over all of upgrades for skills, weapons, loot, and attacks. “We’ll share more details once we get closer to the release,” the developer says.

God of War (2018) followed a similar pattern, adding New Game Plus with a free update several months after launch. Said update brought plenty of changes and additions that were specific to New Game Plus as well, including new customization options and armour sets, new attack patterns for enemies in combat, and more. Whether we can expect something as extensive from Ragnarok’s mode remains to be seen, but that would certainly be the expectation.

God of War Ragnarok is available on PS5 and PS4. It recently also added Photo Mode.
