Gran Turismo 7

Polyphony Digital has dropped some new gameplay footage for Gran Turismo 7, showcasing the classic Deep Forest Raceway from the cockpit during a race. It also reveals how the new cockpit shaking works, providing an even more realistic racing experience. Check it out below.

Deep Forest Raceway has been featured in pretty much every title in the series’ history, save for Gran Turismo Sport so it’s good to see it return. The details, from the skybox to the real-time lighting and shadows, look very, very good here. It definitely aligns with what series creator Kazunori Yamauchi the level of track realism being “tangible”.

Though Polyphony hasn’t outlined all of the tracks in the game, Yamauchi has spoken about Nürburgring being one of his all-time favorites (so it seems a given that it’s included). Gran Turismo 7 is currently slated for March 4th, 2022 for PS4 and PS5. It was recently rated by the Australian Classification board, which seems to indicate that it’s on track for release.
