Gran Turismo 7

The graphical fidelity of Gran Turismo 7 is nothing to sneeze at, presenting gorgeously rendered vehicles and amazing environments. But have you ever wondered how they stack up to real-life? In two new videos with pro driver Dai Yoshihara and Steve Brown (aka Super GT on YouTube), we get to see the comparison first-hand.

The idea is to compare racing in a cockpit in the real-world version of Willow Springs Raceway versus its virtual version. The live-action footage is filmed with a GoPro camera to provide the same perspective. Though there are some differences in the time of day and road textures, everything else – from billboards to nearby buildings – is nearly identical.

Gran Turismo 7 is out on March 4th for PS4 and PS5 so we’ll comb its photo-realistic details soon enough. For more details on the game, from its various modes to the number of vehicles and tracks, check out our feature here.
