Gran Turismo Sport 2020 Updates Will Be “Modest” In Frequency And Amount

Sounds like the team is winding down support.

Gran Turismo Sport

While it got off to a bit of a rocky start, Gran Turismo Sport eventually found its footing and became another successful entry in the storied racing simulator series. Over 8 million players have enjoyed the title to date, and it has been consistently updated and improved. Now it seems that the team could be winding down that support with less frequent updates.

Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital, posted about the upcoming update for the title via his official Twitter. As you can see below, though there is an update coming, Yamauchi also says that 2020 support is going to be modest in both “frequency and volume.” While obviously not explicitly stating anything, it seems that support of the title will be winding down.

Most likely, Polyphony Digital is hard at work at the next installment in the series. The have some ambitious ideas about what they want to try and do in the future, with talks of targeting 120 to 240 fps (which, you know, good luck with that, I guess). Either way, we’ll keep you updated as always.
