Cygames has announced that perennially delayed action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is delayed again. Slated for release this year, it’s now coming in 2023. Producer Yuito Kimura offered a statement on the official website, noting that “internal and external circumstances pertaining to the novel coronavirus have been the primary hindrance to the development process.
“The entire staff has spared no effort in pushing to make up for the lost time. However, considering the large-scale scope of this title, we believe more time is needed to further polish and optimize details and gameplay as we approach the final stretch.” Currently, all graphical resources, music, scenarios, voices and other assets are complete. The team is working on improving the visual fidelity and audio, refining the gameplay and quashing bugs.
Instead of this month, new details are slated to be revealed in December this year. Perhaps a release date will be finalized.
Announced in 2016, Granblue Fantasy: Relink was being developed by PlatinumGames in collaboration with Cygames. The former announced the end of its contract in 2019 and Cygames Osaka would take over development. Though originally announced for PS4, the title is also being developed for PS5 and PC. Check out the most recent gameplay trailer here and stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
The release date for Relink has been changed, with details posted to the official website. We sincerely apologize to everyone excited for Relink.https://t.co/i67yCmjkAJ
