It’s the year of HD remakes and remasters. Even 2015 is full of HD updates and remasters but Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC is a different scenario altogether. That’s because the developer is adding tons of new content while heavily revamping the graphics. According to Take Two Interactive president Karl Slatoff at the MKM Partners Entertainment & Leisure Conference (via GameSpot), the added value will help sell hardware and prompt people to buy it again.

“Yes, we have sold in 34 million units, which is a lot of units. The obvious question is, ‘Is there anyone else out there who would still buy it?’ We happen to believe that there are people out there who have not bought the title yet. We think that GTA V on next-gen platforms could actually really move some hardware as well.”

Rockstar Games is currently working on “delivering on a creative vision that will compel people to go out and lay out more money than they already have at this point.

“The world is going to feel more rich; it’s going to be more vivid; it’s going to be more alive,” Slatoff said. “We think the value proposition will be very compelling.”

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be out on November 18th for Xbox One and PS4 while the PC version releases on January 27th 2015.
