The recently-released trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially released following a leak, prompting developer Rockstar Games to release the trailer earlier than it had planned. Soon after the dust had settled with the trailer’s release, however, several developers from the studio have voiced their disappointment about the trailer being leaked.
Among the developers voicing their displeasure about the trailer leaking is a senior programmer at the studio, who was looking forward to watching the trailer premier at its originally planned date and time with the rest of the world. Quite a few of the developers were disappointed that they didn’t have the chance to watch the trailer together with the rest of the team.
The trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 has been incredibly successful, having been seen more than 96 million times in its first day. The trailer showcases the game’s new protagonists, as well as its setting of Vice City—a place the franchise hasn’t visited since the old Vice City and Vice City Stories games back in the 2000s.

Shame it had to be released like this, but so excited to finally get to show off what we’ve been cooking https://t.co/puDUSqeKEs

Sorry for the rage, but the trailer leak is just so disheartening. I was really looking forward to watching the premier with everyone. A lot of people were.
