After it seemingly leaked on Twitter, Rockstar Games’ first official trailer for the eagerly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 went live early. It confirms many rumors (and last year’s leaks) about the Vice City setting and two playable protagonists. Furthermore, it’s out in 2025, again as rumors suggested.
The trailer starts with Lucia, who’s in prison and asks why she’s there. Cut to a montage of the city, from parties and monster truck meetings to a police assault and alligators entering convenience stores like it’s nothing. Lucia and her partner, the other half of the reported Bonnie and Clyde-inspired partnership, then speak about sticking together and being a team. Perhaps her jaunt in prison could be the result of things going wrong. Regardless, the duo break into a convenience store to rob it and close out the trailer.
Further details are yet to be revealed, though based on Take-Two Interactive’s fourth quarter and fiscal year 2023 results, it could launch by March 31st, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
The game will release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with PC not getting a simultaneous release.
