GT Sport Digital Pre-Orders Being Cancelled By Sony- Report

That's a bit of a drastic move...

Gran Turismo Sport

It looks like any digital pre-orders for Gran Turismo Sport that were placed over PSN are being cancelled by Sony, according to a report by Team VVV. The report states that Sony are apparently cancelling the orders and refunding money owing to the lack of any new date for Polyphony Digital’s game.

“On 30th August 2016 we regrettably announced that the release of Gran Turismo Sport has been delayed until 2017,” a message being sent by Sony apparently states. “We do not have a new release date at this time. We have, therefore, decided to cancel your pre-order and refund your pre-order payment.

“Once we have a new release date for Gran Turismo Sport we will offer a revised pre-order for it on the PlayStation Store at the earliest opportunity. Thank you for your custom and please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

VideoGamer have further received a screenshot of the message sent by Sony from a user, confirming that this is indeed real- and if it is real, it is a very dramatic move. It indicates that this may be a far larger, longer delay than anyone could have anticipated, because cancelling pre-orders for a game is simply something that doesn’t happen all that often.

I wonder when we will get to see more of Gran Turismo Sport next- or even if we will, at this point.
