Rockstar Games recently launched the remastered trilogy of the classic PS2/Xbox Grand Theft Auto games in the form of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition., handled by Grove Street Games While many fans seem to be having a good time, others have been experiencing a ton of bugs, inciting a lot of controversy on the internet. Grove Street Games’ CEO Thomas Williamson also jumped in to recognize the same.
Williamson stated that he is actually enjoying the amount of criticism that is being directed at the studio. The remastered trilogy is quite possibly the studio’s biggest release to date (having previously worked on a number of mobile ports for Rockstar titles), and as such the team is celebrating the occasion. Of course, he also assured that updates are being worked upon, and fans can expect fixes in the coming days. As you might expect, responses to Williamson’s tweets weren’t exactly polite.
Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was recently removed from sale on PC after players weren’t able to access the game for a long period following the launch, so clearly, the remastered trilogy has had its fair share of issues since launch. Hopefully Rockstar can address these problems before too long.
It’s so fun to see players out there really enjoying what we’ve put together for them. I’m honestly enjoying this unparalleled level of scrutiny on our studio. Today we are celebrating our monumental project launch, while we work on updates. 🙂
