Halo Campaign Evolved

Halo Studios has officially announced its remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, dubbed Halo: Campaign Evolved. Launching in 2026, it will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and, in a series’ first, PS5. Check out the first trailer below.

As a “faithful yet modernized” remake of the first Halo, it offers revamped visuals and cinematics, “improved wayfinding,” a remastered soundtrack and even new performances by its cast. Skulls are also included alongside a “broader arsenal” of weapons (including the Needle Rifle, Battle Rifle, and Energy Sword).

There are even three new missions starring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, set before the game’s events and featuring new environments, enemies and characters. They should be a good fit for split-screen co-op (only on consoles, sadly). Four-player online co-op with cross-platform play and cross-progression is also supported.

Other new features include sprinting, the ability to hijack enemy vehicles and the Wraith as a pilotable vehicle. Of course, just as the rumors alleged, there’s no competitive multiplayer. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
