Last year, Microsoft and 343 Industries began the processing of bringing of the entire Halo franchise (other than 5) over to PC with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. That kicked off with Halo: Reach’s launch in December, which was preceded by months of beta testing. Next in line to see its release is Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and as 343 Industries promised earlier, its beta testing process is going to begin soon.

In an update on Halo Waypoint, the developer confirmed that Halo: Combat Evolved, which will be launching on PC some time this year, will see its first beta test beginning at the end of this month, before that is extended to external players in February. Like Halo: Reach, 343 will have multiple betas for Combat Evolved, to test the multiplayer, the campaign (both solo and co-op), the customization, and the progression system.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s fragmented launch on PC so far has been very successful, having seen almost 3 million players when Halo: Reach came out- you can read our review for that through here.
