Halo Studios has revealed details about new content that has been added to Halo Infinite with the recent release of its Operation: Reclaimer update. As part of the update, from now until August 5, players can play the S&D Extraction mode and partake in other activities as they earn armour returning from Halo 4’s multiplayer modes. Check out the launch trailer for Operation: Reclaimer below.

Headlining the update is the Seek & Deploy Extraction game mode available through Halo Infinite’s Ranked and Social playlists. The mode pits two teams of four players each against each other, and has a points economy that players must work with as they defend or try to capture two simultaneously available extraction sites.

What makes the game mode especially high stakes is the fact that all players start on the same playing field; equipped with the Bandit Evo, the Motion Tracker being disabled, and only having one life per round. As a round continues, players earn points for getting kills and completing objectives. These points can then be spent at the start of the next round to get new weapons and equipment, much like a typical game of Counter-Strike.

In every round, players swap between Offense and Defense. While the Offense team is trying to capture extraction sites, the Defense teams have to defend them. The round can also end if an entire team has been eliminated by the other.

Along with S&D Extraction, Halo Infinite has also gotten a new updated Action Sack playlist that pits players in matches filled with free-for-all mini-games. Some of the game modes in the Action Sack playlist will also incorporate popular Forge creations by the community, including The Gravemind, and Thunderbowl. While the former revolves around players riding Mongooses and avoiding a mobile flesh-train, the latter is a demolition derby that makes use of Halo’s arsenal of weapons and vehicles.

Along with the new game mode and updates to playlists, Halo Infinite has also gotten a new Premium Operation Pass. The premium pass features rewards spread across 20 tiers of progression, and buying it will get players the Promethean Bandit weapon model and Serpentine Gradient weapon coating instantly. Along with this, buying the pass also gets you bonus XP, and an additional challenge slot.

Halo Infinite is also celebrating Disability Pride Month by rewarding players that log in before July 31 with a special customisation bundle that includes themed emblems, a visor, and exclusive armour coating. The shop is also getting some new items with the Midnight Bundle that revolves around the Wetwork and FOTUS armour sets. The bundle also includes the Promethean Sniper Rifle model, the Mantle’s Aegist armour effect, and a host of new customisation options.

While Halo Studios has been working on this update, it has also likely been working on some of its other projects since the studio was rebranded from 343 Industries last year. Halo Studios teased earlier this month that it will be making some sort of announcement at the upcoming Halo World Championship event in October.
